Summary


Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse with significant knowledge and skills in Dermatology, and looking for a new challenge to lead our Dermatology Department at UHD?


We are seeking applications for a Band 8a Dermatology Lead Nurse who is either a qualified ACP or a trainee ACP that has already started their training. (Please note that if a trainee ACP the role will be a Band 7 until full ACP is achieved)

This role requires an active Professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Base Location: Cross site working between Poole Hospital and Christchurch Hospital


Interview Date: 5th March 2026

There are 2 parts to this role.
1. Lead of the dermatology service. You will have the opportunity to deliver operational management to a multi-disciplinary team, service development, and clinical leadership.
2. To work clinically within the department as an ACP (trainee ACP)

This is an exciting time within the Dermatology Department , with opportunities for service development as part of UHD Transformation.

The post holder will:
• Cross site work between Poole Hospital and Christchurch Hospital.
• Be the operational line manager for members of the Dermatology Teams .
• Drive service improvement, innovation and staff skill and knowledge acquisition for the benefit of patients within the pathway.
• Seek opportunities to continuously develop the service to always ensure the delivery of safe, patient-centred care.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.


If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
