Summary

Registered Manager - £40,000 salary + Bonus – Whitby

Want to lead a home where every day brings joy, purpose and real impact? Looking for a role that gives you autonomy, recognition, and the support to grow?

Step into Caedmon House—our 9-bed home by the sea in Whitby—where your leadership can make a real difference.

The Role

We’re searching for a confident, experienced Registered Manager to lead Caedmon House: a warm, lively home supporting adults with learning disabilities, including individuals who use nonverbal communication and may show behaviours that challenge.

From local beach strolls to volunteering on a nearby farm, no two days are the same. You’ll be at the heart of a service that truly puts people first—both residents and staff.

You'll report to the Regional Operations Manager and be responsible for running a safe, caring, and happy home.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
• Keep the home fully compliant with CQC and regulatory standards
• Carry out audits, supervision and appraisals
• Manage rotas, recruitment and team development
• Ensure legal compliance including MCA and DoLS
• Maintain great relationships with families and professionals
• Drive improvement and keep the service evolving

About Our Company

Milewood supports adults with complex needs to live full, meaningful lives. We champion respect, honesty and community—always. Caedmon House is just steps from Whitby’s West Cliff and beach, in a converted hotel full of personality and purpose. It’s not just a place to live—it’s a place to thrive.

The Benefits – What’s in It for You?

• Generous annual leave – More time for you, with increases over time
• 24/7 health support – Speak to a GP anytime, plus face-to-face counselling
• Training from day one – A full induction and support to earn qualifications
• Mental health tools – Including Able Futures partnership
• Lifestyle savings – Cut costs on shopping, utilities and leisure
• Pension and paid DBS – We've got your future and security covered
• Team perks – Casual dress, company events, and a relaxed, inclusive culture

The Person

You're someone who:

• Has experience managing residential or nursing services
• Holds, or is working towards, a Level 5 in Leadership & Management
• Is confident with MCA/DoLS and regulatory compliance
• Can drive (essential)
• Brings calm, consistency and clarity—even on the busiest days
• Wants to work in a home that feels like just that: a home

What’s Next?

If you're ready to lead with heart and head—and you’re excited about making Caedmon House even better—we want to hear from you.

Let’s take the next step together.
