There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Head Office is looking to recruit a Group Construction Quality Manager to join the Group Construction team. This is a Field based role, with nationwide travel including regular time at Group Head Office in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Role

Reporting into the Group Construction Director, the Group Construction Quality Manager will lead the development and delivery of construction quality-related processes and procedures across Bellway Construction. This role ensures that construction staff are equipped with the information, Data, and skills to build high-quality homes safely and efficiently. The postholder will work closely with divisional construction leaders, and external partners to embed a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Working as part of the Group Construction Team, this role will work collaboratively with various departments to lead on, content creation, stakeholder engagement, to ensure our people are equipped to deliver high quality homes and excellent service.

Principal accountabilities of the role include:

Improve build quality across all sites by conducting site inspections.
Strengthen decision-making and accountability by providing accurate, timely quality reports that highlight trends, risks and opportunities.
Ensure Build Quality Checklists are maintained for the Site Management team and Site Manager Final Inspection (SMFIs) are complete to the required standard so that Site Management teams are equipped to delivery high quality homes.
Influence construction excellence by attending meetings and presenting key findings to Construction Directors/Managers which will be used to inform management strategy
Support performance improvement by monitoring quality KPIs, identifying non-conformities, tracking corrective actions and ensuring learning is shared and embedded and reported to the Group Construction Director.
Reduce quality risks related to materials and design by collaborating with the Site Managers, Commercial and Technical teams to resolve early concerns.
Strengthen relationships with warranty providers to ensure proactive alignment on standards.
Create a feedback loop that improves the customer journey by regularly engaging with the Customer Care Director (Group Office) to understand any concerns regarding quality during the build.
Working with departments across Group and Divisions to implement improvements that raise quality and productivity. This would require attendance at bi-monthly regional meetings with the Group Construction Director.
Build capability across the construction workforce by supporting the creation, delivery and adoption of group-wide training on quality procedures and trade standards.
Review and contribute to a consistent, high quality construction induction with Group Construction Director that enhances safety, quality and operational consistency.
Represent Bellway at industry forums and external events.
Support talent development in the future workforce by contributing to trade apprentice programmes.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

Time Management – Working to deadlines
Comfortable with facilitation both face to face and online.
In depth knowledge of NHBC quality standards and modern methods of construction.
Previous inspection role within the house building industry
Experience of facilitating face to face learning across multiple locations
Experience working with apprenticeship frameworks and vocational qualifications
Experience in a FTSE250 or large-scale construction business.
Qualifications and Training

Strong understanding of UK housebuilding processes and standards
Professional Qualification and relevant membership to a professional body (e.g. MCIOB) or equivalent experience.
Skills and Aptitude

Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills
Strong written communication and instructional design ability
Confident in building rapport and credibility with diverse audiences
Highly organised with strong time and travel management skills
Proficient in using Microsoft Office and learning technologies
Ability to influence and coach across all levels
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences

The Role and Working Conditions

Field based role, with nationwide travel including regular time at Group HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Travel to all Divisions as and when required
