SEMH Teaching Assistant – Daily supply across Tameside and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible These flexible opportunities are ideal for teaching assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings.Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in mainstream classrooms
- Assist with personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support
- Help manage behaviour and create a calm, safe learning environment
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and school policies
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs in secondary schools
- Understanding of a range of emotional and behavioural challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as an SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Patience, resilience and a proactive approach to learning support
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
