Overview
Beeston Marina Chandlery is at the heart of Beeston Marina. An independent Chandlery supplying goods and services for local boaters needs and those of the local community. We’re a key Calor Gas supplier delivering cylinders to our own mobile home park tenants, and retailing to local customers.
The Chandlery is open 08.30am-5pm 7 Days a week.
Located on the banks of the River Trent at Beeston Lock, the Marina is a very popular visitor destination for both boaters and those enjoying walks and biking along the riverside path.
A minimum of 25 hours per week. Additional hours may become available. Weekend working as per timetable rota.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager
To assist the Manager in the day to day operation of the Chandlery
Ensuring all daily opening and closing procedures are completed
Serving retail customers
Assisting in cleaning all areas
Cash handling and taking card payments
Assisting Marina customers (training provided)
Assisting the Manager in ordering and booking in stock
Delivering Calor Gas Cylinders and dispensing Diesel fuel
Any other reasonable requests
Skills
L2 Food Hygiene Certificate (training will be provided to the successful applicant)
Good numerical and literacy skills
Good personal hygiene
Personable manner and a high level of customer service
Reliability - ability to work both on their own and as part of a small team
Computer competency using EPOS systems and Office Suite - system specific training provided
Must be punctual and have the willingness to be part of a hardworking team
Ability to undertake a variety of tasks
A basic knowledge of Boating and Chandlery items would be an advantage
