Join our mission to inspire and empower learners and make a lasting impact on their lives.
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. We are a specialist independent provision with sites in Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds.
Our schools are focused on developing the whole learner, working with their interests to engage them in education, so they feel successful and are ready to take positive steps in their journey to adulthood and beyond. In our academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 2 to 5. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some complex and challenging children.
Pivot Academy Kirklees provides support for young people who have a wide range of complex needs, who may have experienced trauma and are usually supported by an EHCP. We work with the whole family to provide bespoke support based on the individual needs of each child, giving them opportunities to gain a variety of qualifications and follow personalised pathways through to education or employment.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and resilient practitioner to join our Key Stage 2 team supporting Day 6 learners through their journey. As an instructor, you will work with the KS2 teachers to deliver the primary curriculum and interventions in small groups, enabling our learners to make progress according to their learning pathways.
Experience of delivering sessions to primary age learners with social, emotional and mental health needs or ASC is essential to this role, as is the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with learners, staff, parents/carers and the community.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our learner’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to make a difference to learners who need some extra support.
What We Offer
• Inclusive Environment: We cater for learners with diverse SEMH learning needs, providing a positive, supportive and nurturing atmosphere where you can thrive as an instructor, purposefully delivering exciting lessons that meet specialist needs.
• Small Class Sizes: Enjoy the benefits of working with smaller groups, allowing for personalised attention and meaningful connections.
• Holistic Approach: We focus on developing not only academic skills but also life and personal skills, fostering well-rounded individuals, transforming the futures of our learners.
• Collaborative Team: Join a small, passionate team committed to making a difference in learners’ lives. Receive full support from a dedicated team of senior leaders and colleagues, with a focus on your professional development and career progression.
• Ethical Commitment: Join a community that values empathy, kindness, and integrity.
What are we looking for?
• Passion: A love for inspiring young people and a desire to ignite curiosity in our learners.
• Empathy: Understanding and supporting learners using trauma informed practice.
• Commitment: Helping learners to achieve their potential, with high expectations of themselves and others.
