Summary

Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Bilston
Rate of pay: £15.00 to £16.50 per hour + Shift allowance (£17.64 to £19.41 per hour)
Hours: Double Day Shifts
Monday–Thursday: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm
Friday: 6am–11am / 11am–4pm

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-focused and reliable Quality Inspector to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will inspect precision-engineered components using hand tools and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) technology, ensuring all products meet strict quality standards before reaching customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect precision-machined components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other hand-held tools.
• Operate and interpret data from CMM machines (training provided if required).
• Use Tesa Scan and Shadowgraph equipment to verify component accuracy.
• Record measurements accurately and complete inspection reports.
• Identify non-conforming parts and report findings to the Quality and Production teams.
• Ensure inspection equipment is maintained and calibrated.
• Follow all quality procedures in line with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality team.

Skills & Experience

• Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
• Proficiency with hand-held inspection tools.
• Experience with CMM machines preferred (training can be provided).
• Familiarity with Tesa Scan and Shadowgraph equipment advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and a good team player.

Hours & Shift Pattern

• Preferably willing to work Double Day Shifts:

• Monday–Thursday: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm
• Friday: 6am–11am / 11am–4pm

Remuneration & Benefits

• Hourly rate: £16 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
• Shift allowance: Additional 15% for applicable shifts.
• Overtime available:

• First 5 hours at x1.5
• Next 3 hours at x1.75
• Additional overtime at x2

• 4% company pension contribution
