Are you a resilient and passionate educator with a strong background in managing challenging behaviour? Do you thrive in a setting where every day brings new opportunities to make a difference? We’re seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher for an Alternative Provision school in Stockport, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time role suited to a teacher with proven experience supporting pupils who display complex behavioural needs, often resulting from trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or SEND. You'll work as part of a dynamic, therapeutic team who place pupil well-being and relationship-building at the heart of the school’s ethos.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS – essential.

  • Strong confidence managing challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom.

  • Skilled in using de-escalation strategies and promoting a restorative, nurturing classroom environment.

  • Team Teach trained (highly desirable).

  • Experience in Alternative Provision, PRUs or SEMH settings is a strong advantage.

  • A trauma-informed, pupil-centred approach.

    What We’re Looking For:
    • Someone committed to creating a safe, supportive learning environment.

    • A reflective practitioner who adapts teaching to meet varied SEMH needs.

    • A collaborative team player who contributes to a whole-school safeguarding culture.

    • Confident planning and delivering lessons that engage pupils and re-build trust in education.

      The School Offers:
      • A small, close-knit team passionate about pupil outcomes.

      • Excellent pastoral support and ongoing professional development.

      • The chance to genuinely transform the lives of pupils who have faced significant barriers.

If you’re an experienced teacher ready for a rewarding new challenge in Stockport, we’d love to hear from you.
