What the school offers its staff
Rachel McMillan Nursery School is one of four Maintained Nursery Schools (MNS) in Royal Borough of Greenwich and we are at the centre of our community, able to keep the child’s early years at the heart of everything we do. We are the original open-air nursery schools and children free flow between the inside and outside areas, each seen as of equal value. We have a number of children who have special educational needs, many of whom are at the early stages of identification. We have a child-centred approach to children’s learning whilst ensuring that we scaffold the learning with experiences and this allow us to have high expectations for the children in our school.
We work closely with our parents at all stages of their child’s education. We take children from the age of two until they move to reception class. The size of the school grows during the year and in the summer term, we can have up to 160 children on roll.
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic new member of staff to join our school in April 2026. Working in the office means that you are the first contact for parents and visitors to the nursery, you will need to be welcoming, have excellent people skills, and good literacy and numeracy skills. You will play a vital role supporting two office colleagues with completing administrative tasks linked to general school operations.
