Catering Assistant
Location: NHS Forth ValleyHours: Weekend only Saturdays and Sundays shifts:
· 7am -11pm (8 hours per week)
· 1pm – 8pm (14 hour per week)
· 2pm
- 8pm (12 hours per week) Salary: £13.32 per hour
Part time 12-month Fixed Term Contract


We’re looking for a Catering Assistant to help deliver a high-quality, safe, and person-centred catering service for patients, staff, and visitors. You’ll assist with food preparation, meal service, and cleaning duties across our kitchens, restaurant, and café areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in line with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
- Operate catering equipment and handle cash/card payments.
- Support stock rotation and ensure equipment is clean and fit for purpose.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to requests promptly.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous catering experience is helpful but not essential—full training provided.
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
· Vetting and checks:
· An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
