The Divisional Lead Advanced Practitioner is an exciting new role and will be responsible for leading, developing and innovating Advanced Practice within the Medicine & Emergency Care Division.

They will provide expert professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers, as well as contributing to the operational and strategic developments to provide a more co-coordinated and equitable approach

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing professional standards of care and also contribute to the overall strategic plan for Advanced Practice across the Trust shaping the future for this workforce.

The post holder will deliver a job plan to support the 4 pillars with a minimum of 20% clinical component averaged over a 12-month period.

Lead the development of business cases, including budget setting and procurement of workforce investments related to the Advanced Practice workforce.

Provide direct expert advanced clinical practice through assessment, treatment and monitoring of care ensuring interventions and treatments are undertaken in line with best practice.

Develop and sustain appropriate collaborative relationships, partnerships and networks to influence and improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery systems

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.

Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

This is a three-year training programme where the individual with undertake a Level 7 apprenticeship in Advanced Clinical Practice, which is designed to equip experienced registered healthcare practitioners with the specialist skills required to operate as an independent, autonomous clinical practitioner to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in collaboration with the management and consultant team.

On successful completion of the training programme, the advanced clinical practitioner will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with other senior healthcare professionals in the team, formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical speciality.
