The RoleThrive Education is working in partnership with a specialist education provider to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference, supporting learners with complex needs through a personalised, nurturing and holistic approach to education. Due to the location of the provision, drivers are strongly preferred as there isn't accessible public transport.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism and social, emotional and communication difficultiesSupport learners to access a personalised curriculum and achieve individual outcomesPromote emotional wellbeing, independence and positive behaviour through consistent, compassionate supportAssist teaching staff with the planning and delivery of adapted learning activitiesCreate and maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environmentWork collaboratively with teachers, therapists and external professionalsRecord progress and contribute to reviews and support plans where required
About YouA genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SENDExperience working in education, care or a similar support role is desirable (but not essential)Calm, patient and resilient with a flexible approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to build positive, trusting relationships with learnersFull UK driving licence preferred due to the rural location
