Are you highly organised, detail‑driven and motivated by making a meaningful contribution to high‑quality governance? We are seeking an exceptional Corporate Governance Officer to join our Corporate Governance Team and help ensure that our Board, its committees, and key governance processes run seamlessly and effectively.
This is a pivotal role supporting the smooth running of the Trust’s corporate governance arrangements. You will provide high‑quality secretariat and administrative support to the Trust Board, Board Committees, and senior governance leads. A typical week includes preparing agendas, supporting meeting planning cycles, producing accurate and professional minutes, maintaining action logs, coordinating governance information, and ensuring compliance with governance processes and regulatory frameworks.
This role demands outstanding judgement, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with absolute professionalism. You must be able to analyse complex information, interpret governance requirements, and problem‑solve autonomously.
You will play a vital role at the heart of the organisation, contributing directly to strengthening governance, enhancing Board effectiveness, and ultimately supporting safer, better care for patients. • Secretariat support for Board and Committee meetings, including agenda planning, minute‑taking, action tracking and coordination of papers.
• Supporting compliance with governance frameworks such as the NHS Code of Governance, Fit and Proper Person requirements, and the Well‑Led framework.
• Maintaining key governance registers and documentation.
• Coordinating, researching and preparing high‑quality reports, background information and briefing materials.
• Supporting governance improvement and change projects across the Trust.
• Building effective relationships with senior leaders and governance colleagues.

- Supporting compliance with agreed governance procedures within the Trust.
- Provide efficient and effective governance and secretariat support to meetings of the Board, the Board Committees and other governance groups.
- Provide efficient and effective support for senior governance roles include Non- Executive Director Chairs of Committees, Executive Director Leads of Committees, other Non-Executive Directors in their committee roles, and the Director of Corporate Services and Company Secretary.
- Provide efficient and effective support for other corporate governance work, including the Register of Interests, the Fit and Proper Person framework, Board development, the CQC Well-Led framework, and the NHS Code of Governance.
- Support the review and challenge of existing processes in order to identify new ways of working that would be advantageous to the team and organisation.
- Support identified change and improvement projects, working closely with the Head of Corporate Governance and the Director of Corporate Services to deliver service improvement.
- Complete specified tasks or assignments in the field of corporate governance as may be required by the Head of Corporate Governance or the Director of Corporate Services.
