Summary

For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification Provide a holistic, advanced, physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with a cancer diagnosis. These patients may present with complex physical, emotional and psychological needs as a result of their cancer diagnosis and its treatment with surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Provide a physiotherapeutic diagnosis, to develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes and make appropriate referrals to other disciplines. Hold responsibility for a defined clinical area and own caseload, working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available, clinical work is not routinely evaluated by senior staff. Supervision with a designated physiotherapist takes the form of formal training, reflective practice and clinical reasoning. The post holder will have the opportunity to join our band 6 rotations, gaining experience across inpatient and outpatient settings, working within different specialities which may include critical care, GI, urology, haematology, gynae-oncology, sarcoma, head and neck, breast, lung, palliative care, prehabilitation and rehabilitation.The successful candidate will also gain inpatient respiratory and post-operative physiotherapy experience in different clinical specialities through participation in the weekend and on call rota. We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist with a special interest in the field of oncology to work as a part a multidisciplinary team. You will be supported by senior colleagues, with regular supervision and in-service training.
