A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, RCVS-accredited independent practice in Essex. This permanent role, which can be full- or part-time, is based across a central hospital and two supportive branch practices.
The Role:
This small animal-only position is perfect for a confident vet seeking variety, clinical autonomy, and excellent facilities. You’ll manage a diverse caseload including consultations, diagnostics, procedures, and inpatient care, with the chance to build strong client relationships in a supportive team environment.
We’re Looking For:
• Strong emergency and diagnostic skills
• Excellent client communication
• A proactive, solution-focused approach
• Commitment to patient welfare and ongoing professional development
Working Pattern:
• 3–4 days/week (Mon, Thu, Fri required; every other Wed initially)
• Hours: Mon & Fri 8:30am–8:00pm; Wed & Thu 8:30am–5:30pm
• On-call inpatient/emergency backup: 1 in 2 Mondays
• 1 in 8 Saturday mornings; 1 in 8 duty weekends (Fri evening/Sat morning/emergency cover)
• TOIL for duty weekends; usually either Friday before or Tuesday after
• Bank holidays on rota
