This role will provide professional and practical support to families where their children may need to come into care as it is deemed unsafe at home . This will involve dealing with complex situations where risk is high. This role will undertake family group decision making meetings to identify potential extended family and friends' network who may be able to support and care for the children. This is a new requirement for local authorities. This role will coordinate work and supervise Grade 9 and Grade 6 staff within the team.
You will have good knowledge and understanding of children’s safeguarding work so that you can provide clear management oversight and effective decision making in order to meet our children’s needs in a timely way, ensuring that the best outcomes are achieved. Performance management is essential, and you will need to demonstrate clear strategies to ensure progress is made in all areas. An ability to challenge effectively and support the workforce, enabling them to deliver excellent practice whilst prioritising competing demands is essential. You will also need to manage and coordinate work activities in line with the service priorities, along with developing effective partnership arrangements with all appropriate stakeholders, always with the children and family’s needs at the heart.
