About the Role

We are looking to appoint to a Finance Support Assistant to support Adult Social Care (ASC), working within the ASC Debt and Closures Team.

The role is to undertake the affordability checks relating to the re-designed and improved Third-Party Top Up fees for Residential care homes. (For information a Third-party payment does not fall to the person in residential to pay, this has to be paid by a third party).

The role is to review the results of the affordability checks to determine if the charge is affordable and sustainable based on the financial information provider by the third party.

You will be client-driven, understand the fundamentals of finance, be motivated to deliver change, have strong customer service skills. IT skills are essential, particularly Excel, to this role and the ability to communicate effectively in writing, face to face and by telephone including being able to manage challenging conversations.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, focused and committed to:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification Or Equivalent level of relevant experience
  • The use of ICT systems, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to effectively resolve general queries by liaising with internal and external colleagues
  • Ability to handle general telephone queries efficiently and professionally
  • Planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Good numerical skills and customer care

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations.
