* Friday: 7:30am - 2:30pm

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Strain Gauge Installation Technician to join a busy and dynamic production environment. This position involves working on the manufacture and installation of specialist strain‑gauge-based components, assemblies, and transducers. The ideal candidate will bring strong practical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and confidence working both on-site and within a production facility.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out all aspects of strain gauge bonding, including surface preparation, layout, handling, clamping, and curing across various materials.
* Perform strain gauge wiring tasks such as soldering, cable prep, bridge balancing, and temperature compensation.
* Assemble and prepare components including connectors, looms, circuit boards, bearing fittings, welding, and related production processes.
* Use protective coatings, adhesives, and bonding materials effectively.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings (basic and complex).
* Conduct calibration, testing, and the preparation of associated documentation.
* Maintain high standards of quality, inspecting own work and supporting quality across the team.
* Train or support team members in bonding techniques where required.
* Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organised working environment.

About You

Experience & Qualifications:
* Approximately 5+ years' experience in a similar Production Technician role.
* Certification equivalent to BSSM Level 2 (Level 1 considered depending on experience).
* Strong practical background with transducer or strain gauge-related production preferred.

Skills & Attributes:
* Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to manage a varied workload and remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent attention to detail, strong organisation, and consistent adherence to documented procedures.
* Able to work independently and take initiative when required.
* Comfortable working in mixed environments including production halls, customer sites, and outdoor or non-controlled conditions.
