Summary

Salary: SCP 5 – 11, £25,583 - £28,142 (This role is currently undergoing job evaluation. The grading and associated salary may be subject to change.)

Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 5:00pm and Fridays rotating between 08:00am to 14:30 or off.

Location: Based in Pool, with work carried out across the Camborne area. A company vehicle is provided for travel between sites.

Camborne Town Council are now seeking Amenities Technicians to join our Facilities Team. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the town’s green spaces, public areas, and council assets. With the ongoing expansion of our green spaces and the continued development of our buildings and facilities, this is an exciting opportunity to join a proactive and growing team.

Applicants should have practical experience in grounds or facilities maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture, and a good understanding of safe working practices. You must hold a full driving licence, be willing to work outside of office hours, and be flexible to adapt to changing operational needs. A commitment to high standards, good communication skills, and a willingness to undertake further training are also essential. The post is subject to DBS and DVLA checks.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain Town Council facilities, buildings, and assets as part of scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance programmes.
• Monitor, maintain, and clean amenity tools, stores, and supplies.
• Inspect and report on play equipment and carry out safety and compliance checks across all council facilities.
• Operate council vehicles, perform daily checks, and report any defects.
• Support the development and review of safe working practices and risk assessments.
• Carry out grass cutting, footpath management, weeding, litter collection, recycling, and pressure washing.
• Water and maintain floral displays, and provide horticultural services, including pruning, weeding, planting and tidying.
• Distribute council information and community notices on notice boards.
• Provide friendly, professional responses to all stakeholders and support community cohesion.
• Support council events and work collaboratively with the wider team.
