Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our team at Heathland's Community Pre-school and Out of School Club. This person must hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. The position is suitable for individuals with experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment where children feel secure and valued.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, maintaining detailed records of their development.
- Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of daily routines and activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outings.
- Lead by example in demonstrating positive behaviour management strategies.
- Assist with organising educational resources and maintaining a clean, organised learning environment.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum and policies.

Skills

- Proven leadership abilities within early childhood settings (not a priority but could be essential for the right role and candidate).
- Some level of experience working with children in childcare or nursery environments.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the EYFS and child development stages.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to organise activities that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Compassionate, patient, and nurturing demeanour essential for working with young children.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

If you are passionate about making a difference in young children's lives, we welcome your application and look forward to hearing from you.
