Job Description Part-Time GP ReceptionistJob Title: GP Receptionist Hours: Part-time (2530 hours per week) FTE: 0.67 0.80 Location: Yiewsley Family Practice Clinical System: EMIS Web Job Summary The GP Receptionist plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused reception service. The postholder will act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing professional, courteous, and efficient support while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to practice policies at all times. Key Responsibilities Receive and assist patients at reception and over the telephone in a polite and professional manner Book, amend, and cancel appointments using EMIS Web Manage patient queries and signpost appropriately to clinicians or services Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR and NHS information governance requirements Support the wider practice team with day-to-day reception and administrative duties Follow practice protocols and contribute to the smooth running of the practice Essential Criteria GP Practice Receptionist qualification or equivalent training Previous experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting Good computer skills and confidence using clinical systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities Professional, reliable, and patient-focused approach Desirable Criteria Experience using EMIS Web Knowledge of NHS primary care processes and workflows Personal Qualities Organised and methodical Calm and professional in challenging situations Team-oriented with a positive attitude Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy healthcare environment Other Information Yiewsley Family Practice is a fully trained digital practice, and the successful candidate will be supported to work confidently within digital systems and processes.
