Warehouse Operative
Job&Talent are recruiting for experienced Warehouse Operative in Nursling, Southampton, we are looking for hard working and experienced warehouse operatives to join our team, our client is ramping up for some new business opportunities and are looking for core team members to join the operation.
As a Warehouse Operative you will need to have:
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
- Stay physically active during your shift
- Safety Shoes & Hi-vis
- Good attention to detail.
- A commitment to health & safety.
- We require candidates with the ability to work flexible shifts.
Salary :
- Starting at £12.21 per hour (shift dependent). After 12 weeks of continuous work, the rate increases to £12.23. Night shifts range from £12.96 to £13.66 after 12 weeks.
- Location : Nursling, Southampton SO16 9RB
- Shifts are mixed and depend on the day and workload. They can start as early as 10 or 11 a.m., and the finish time varies based on the work volume - it's never the same. Some shifts run from midnight until morning, or from 3 a.m. until 10 a.m.
- Not one day is the same
Role of a Warehouse Operative:
- Accurately receive, pick, assemble and load customer orders within depot accuracy and speed targets,
- Sorting & Scanning: Using smart tech to sort parcels into cages.
- Contribute towards a clean and safe working environment, demonstrating concern to ensure that personal actions do not compromise the health and safety of self and/or colleagues at all times
- Handle customer stock with care and consideration to minimize damages and maximize customer service
- Adhere to instructions and guidelines regarding manual handling, the use of Mechanical Handling equipment, including pre-operational checks, reporting of defects, and the safe use and operation of all equipment.
- Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, stacking stock onto and off pallets in a safe and stable manner ready for transit.
- Physically demanding, due to long hours of standing and continuously sorting parcels, some heavier than expected.
Please Note: This role requires commitment and is suitable for candidates who are reliable and able to attend shifts at short notice.
