Summary
Architectural Technician
A regional house builder have a requirement for an Architectural Technician to join their Design & Technical team to be the liaison between the Technical Department and the site teams on new build housing developments in the region.
Architectural Technician role
The Design and Technical teams are involved in all aspects of housing design and innovation, this team is also responsible for researching the best materials, at the best cost. As an Architectural Technician you will provide support across all areas of the design, regulation and planning process, working closely with colleagues and third parties to ensure developments are delivered.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing architectural support to a number of different developments.
- Producing and amend site layouts.
- Gaining building regulation approvals for allocated developments.
- Assisting with planning applications Delivering and co-ordinating working drawings.
- Preparing specifications.
- Collating and organising technical information.
- Support provision of technical information for site starts.
- The investigation of technical problems encountered and provision of viable economical solutions.
- Attending site meetings as required
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience
- Experience of working as an Architectural Technician within the housebuilding sector managing multiple developments
- Ability to be able to express technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience of working with Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD is desirable
- Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good administration skills
- Works effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrate a creative flair and innovative approach to development layouts.
