Summary
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and skilled Healthcare Assistant to provide high quality, person-centred care and support to individuals in a healthcare or community setting. You will support service users with their physical, emotional, and social needs while promoting dignity, independence, and safety always.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide person-centred care in line with individual care plans
• Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care
• Support service users with mobility, using correct moving and handling techniques
•Assist with meals, hydration, and nutritional needs
• Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour to senior staff
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs where required
Requirements
• Valid Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
• Care Certificate
• Fire Safety Training
• First Aid Training
• Mental Capacity Act (MCA) & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
• Moving & Handling – Theory and Practical
• Autism Awareness Training
Desirable (Nice to Have)
• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker and care worker
Skills & Personal Qualities
• Caring, patient, and empathetic nature
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, flexible, and professional approach
• Good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends if required
