Summary


Would you like to begin or continue your SLT career in a varied and exciting role within a dynamic and supportive Adult SLT Team? We are looking to recruit two Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists to join us. These role could suit either a new graduate or someone with some experience at Band 5. You will be rotating between the rehabilitation wards and the community.

The successful post holders will be fully supported to develop their skills in assessment and therapy of acquired communication impairments and dysphagia. The team provides input to a wide range of adult clients with complex conditions including acquired and progressive neurological conditions, dementia and respiratory conditions.

A framework of regular supervision including 1:1, peer supervision, CPD and appraisals is in place. You will have opportunities to work with the wider multi-disciplinary team and to engage in service development. We are committed to supporting your training and development.

Both posts are based at Willesden Centre for Health, where have an office base, an outpatients’ clinic and our inpatient rehabilitation wards. We also provide mobile working devices to allow you to work more flexibly.

The post holders will be providing speech and language therapy services to a wide variety of clients with complex needs. A significant proportion of these clients will have English as an additional language (EAL). They will be expected to manage their own caseload but will work in a multidisciplinary environment and receive regular supervision. They will be supported by highly qualified clinicians and a Clinical Specialist Speech Therapist and will be provided the opportunity to develop communication and dysphagia skills.

For the community rotation, the settings are varied including client’s homes, nursing homes, outpatient clinics and via virtual video sessions.

The inpatient post will be based across Robertson Unit and Furness ward at Willesden Centre for Health and Care. The post holder will provide specialist speech and language therapy assessments and treatments to a predominantly neurological caseload of clients with complex needs. They will need to work closely with the clinical matron and other senior members of the multidisciplinary team.
