About the role
The Digital Marketing Lead will play a key role in shaping the RAF Families Federation’s digital presence - a hands-on, creative role ideal for someone who lives and breathes digital culture, understands online behaviour intuitively, and can translate insight into compelling content and effective user experiences. You will help deliver a modern, data driven digital strategy - improving how RAF families discover information, engage with services, and connect with the Federation. Working closely with the Communications Manager, you’ll bring fresh thinking, digital curiosity, and a user centred mindset to everything you do. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a real difference to the RAF community and is excited by the challenge of building impactful digital experiences in a small but ambitious communications team.
Primary responsibilities include
Plan, create and publish engaging digital content across web, email, and social platforms to support campaigns, services, and advocacy work.
Maintain a consistent digital voice that is modern, clear, supportive, and aligned with our brand.
Monitor community conversations, flag emerging issues, and help maintain a trustworthy and responsive presence.
Contribute to occasional weekend work for key RAF and Federation events (shared across the team).
Support our social channels day-to-day by producing dynamic and relevant content that grows reach and engagement
Use analytics tools to understand user behaviour and optimise content, navigation, and journeys to improve impact and accessibility.
Improve SEO performance through smart content structuring, keyword optimisation, and link building strategies.
Track digital performance and provide insight-led recommendations to strengthen engagement.
