An opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for
front-of-house service. (Live-in available)
The White Swan is looking to recruit a Front of House Duty Manager to join our
passionate and friendly team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced
individual looking to take on a key leadership role within a well-regarded rural hotel.
This position is open to local applicants who are available to work weekends and
have consistent transport to and from work. A live-in option is also available. The
ideal live-in candidate will be respectful, professional, and considerate of both hotel
guests and other live-in staff.
(We are unable to offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to
work in the UK.)
The White Swan Hotel is a fantastic 20-bedroom hotel with a strong local reputation,
an experienced team, and excellent training and development opportunities. Our
mission is to continue developing The White Swan as a warm, welcoming rural
venue with rooms, great food, and high standards of service.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a front-of-house
supervisory or management role within hospitality. We are looking for a confident,
organised, and hands-on individual with strong leadership skills, excellent customer
service, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.

Responsibilities:
● Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations during shifts
● Act as the main point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm, professional,
and consistent service
● Lead, motivate, and support the front-of-house team during service
● Ensure service standards are maintained across the bar, restaurant, and
public areas
● Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
● Manage staff allocation, breaks, and shift organisation
● Support the training and development of front-of-house team members
● Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
● Cash handling and end-of-shift procedures
● Work closely with senior management to support smooth hotel operations
● Lead by example, maintaining professionalism, honesty, and attention to
detail at all times
