Join Hyde a s Building Safety Specialist.
As a Building Safety Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our Higher Risk Buildings are safe, compliant, and well-managed. You’ll be responsible for implementing the requirements of the Building Safety Act, maintaining key safety records, and supporting both customers and colleagues with clear guidance and assurance. You’ll work closely across Hyde and with external stakeholders to deliver improvements aligned with changing legislation and emerging national policy. Every day brings new challenges and the chance to make a real difference to the safety and wellbeing of our residents.
What you’ll be doing
Developing and delivering a Customer Communication and Engagement strategy for Higher Risk Buildings, providing residents with clear ways to raise concerns.
Creating and maintaining evacuation plans and ensuring fire safety arrangements are up to date.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to undertake and review fire risk assessments, ensuring inspections and servicing meet required timescales.
Producing and maintaining the Building Safety Casefile and Building Safety Report to secure regulatory assurance and certification.
Supporting the Head of Building Safety in developing and reviewing policies and processes, keeping them aligned with legislation and best practice.
Verifying that operational compliance activities are delivered in line with regulations and internal policy.
Applying building design, construction, and life safety principles to evaluate risks, maintenance impact, and overall building safety.
Explaining the legal and contractual frameworks that buildings operate within, including safety management and golden thread requirements.
Applying principles of governance and risk management, demonstrating safety assurance to residents and the Building Safety Regulator.
Testing and evaluating the effectiveness of safety delivery, including customer engagement and accurate record-keeping.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, organised, and passionate about building safety. You don’t need to be a housing professional, but you will bring:

Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across complex projects.
Analytical thinking, resilience, and a genuine interest in building safety, compliance, and social impact.
Why join Hyde?
