Summary
We’re looking for 4x Service Assistants to join the visitor experience team at Hardwick Hall.
Salary: £12.25 per hour
Contract/duration: 9 months
Hours/working pattern/hours: Zero hours fixed term contract
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
This is an exciting time to join the team at Hardwick Hall ahead of our peak season, as we develop our visitor experience, engagement and connections to our fantastic historic hall, collections & wider estate. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, this role plays a core part in providing fantastic exceptional service and growing support.
This temporary role will be vital to supporting Hardwick Hall’s seasonal programme until January 2027. You will be working across the property, engaging visitors and providing operational support.
Possible shift patterns:
There will be more shifts available around our key programming dates through the year and then periods of less shifts. Mon-Sun – 9.30-4.30pm with timings updated depending on specific events. Regular weekend working and bank holiday expected.
Important dates:
Training and Inductions – week commencing 9th March 2026 (attendance at one of these dates will be mandatory)
Tuesday 10th March 1.30-4.30pm
Wednesday 11th March 10-1pm

What you'll be doing
The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors. No two days will be the same. You can expect to meet many different people and gain experience in different visitor areas. You’ll get involved in all kinds of tasks, including greeting visitors on arrival, restocking the shelves in the shop and clearing tables in the café. Most importantly, you’ll be talking to visitors, answering their questions and making sure they can find everything they need to enjoy their day.
