We are currently recruiting for Bank Kitchen Assistant with previous experience working in a catering/kitchen/hospitality environment who can cover flexible ad hoc shifts as and when required to cover for annual leave, sickness, training, etc. at Cygnet Hospital Harrow.
Our current need is for bank staff to cover across a 7 day rota (Monday – Sunday)
You will assist the Chef in ensuring that all catering areas are maintained in a hygienic, clean, tidy and safe manner, as per the operational standards, and assist in all relevant aspects of the catering operation as required.
Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
In this role you'll….
• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

• Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member
• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
• An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels
• Able to work on your own initiative & under supervision
• Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
