Your Training Journey

The 4+1 Model: Four days per week in school, one day (Wednesdays) for online PGCE study and professional development.

September–December: Foundation
Observe expert teachers, co-teach with your mentor, and build classroom confidence

January–March: Development
Take the lead on lesson planning and delivery, develop assessment and feedback strategies

April–July: Independence
Teach independently, refine your classroom management, and complete your PGCE + QTS qualification

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A degree in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, or related STEM field (2:1 or higher preferred)
OR Strong A-level grades in Maths, Physics, or Chemistry
• Genuine passion for STEM and education
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• The right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• A driving licence (Carlisle has excellent public transport links)
• Experience working with young people in any capacity
• Involvement in STEM enrichment activities or outreach
