The Opportunity
This temporary (with a view to permanent) HSE position has arisen to provide additional on?site safety support during a period of increased operational activity. You’ll be joining a well?established, forward?thinking engineering and manufacturing organisation recognised for its strong safety culture and commitment to continuous improvement.
As a key member of the HSE function, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining safe working practices, driving COSHH compliance, supporting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the site. This is an ideal opportunity for an HSE professional who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, solving problems, and contributing to a team that values collaboration, innovation, and employee wellbeing.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Supporting and advising management and employees on day?to?day health and safety matters
- Carrying out, reviewing and maintaining COSHH risk assessments
- Completing general risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Conducting shop?floor inspections and safety audits
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near?miss events
- Supporting compliance with UK health & safety legislation
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the site
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Proven COSHH experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Confident engagement skills with shop?floor teams.
It’s great if you also have the following
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH)
- Experience in heavy or high?risk manufacturing environments
- Exposure to ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 systems
