Assembly Technician

A precision engineering business specialising in defence and high-reliability applications is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join their production team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will focus on delivering high-quality wiring looms and light mechanical assemblies to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce wiring looms using soldered and crimped connectors.
- Perform light mechanical assembly of precision components.
- Work from drawings, schematics and parts lists to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain IPC-A-610 Class 2 assembly standards.
- Support production targets and quality requirements.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven ability working from technical drawings, schematics and parts lists.
- Experience assembling soldered and crimped connectors.
- IPC-A-610 Class 2 certification or equivalent soldering/assembly competency.
- IT literate with basic MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word).
Desirable:
- Background in Defence or similar high-reliability sectors (scientific equipment, special purpose machinery, high-end customisation).
