Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We require an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team at St John’s Catholic Primary School. The successful candidate will largely be working on a 1-to-1 basis, but will include some general class support as well.
We are looking for someone who:
• Enjoys helping all children to learn through a range of activities, including those with barriers to their learning
• Is qualified to Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 2
• Has experience of supporting children with specific needs on a 1-to-1 basis
• Has knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Social and Emotional needs
• Can develop strategies and approaches to meet children’s Special Educational Needs, including 1-to-1 support and small group work
• Supports any other children, small group or provide support in whole classes as required by the school
• Works well under direction, but also shows initiative and can take ownership of tasks
• Has a good level of literacy and numeracy skills
• Is a committed Catholic or committed to supporting the Catholic life and mission of the school
