The successful candidate will be able to deliver all aspects of the PE National Curriculum, with experience of teaching team games being an advantage. A specialism in Rugby, Football, Hockey or Cricket is desirable.

Physical Education Department
The Physical Education Department is founded on an inclusive approach that enables all pupils to improve their individual performance while developing skills and tactics across a broad range of activities.
PE is taught for two hours a week to all pupils in set ability groups, with a combination of mixed and single sex groups depending upon the activity being taught. In Years 10 and 11, BTEC Sport and GCSE PE are popular options, with many pupils progressing to Level 3 and beyond.
Activities offered cover all National Curriculum requirements, with some element of pupil choice in Years 10 and 11. An extensive extra-curricular and fixture programme enables pupils of all abilities to represent the school in matches and tournaments.
The College is a partner in a dual-use sports scheme supported by South Cambridgeshire District Council, providing excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. These include a sports hall, gymnasium, fully equipped fitness suite and swimming pool, alongside floodlit tennis/netball courts, a synthetic grass astroturf area, an artificial cricket wicket and extensive playing fields.
Our PE department contributes significantly to the wider life of the College. Approximately half of pupils take part in extra-curricular PE, supported by the department’s inclusive ethos and strong staff–pupil relationships.
Commitment to safeguarding
Anglian Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff to share this commitment and those in regulated activity will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and online checks. Certificate of Good Conduct and other applicable checks may be requested. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Our policies for Ex-Offenders, GDPR, Safeguarding and Recruitment can be found on our website: www.anglianlearning.org.
