The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions for refurbishment projects. You'll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure all tenders are commercially sound, compliant, and competitive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for refurbishment projects

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

  • Carry out take-offs and pricing using estimating software and Excel

  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

  • Attend site visits and surveys to support cost planning

  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options

  • Compile and present tender submissions in line with client requirements

  • Attend pre- and post-tender meetings

  • Support project handover with clear financial and scope information

  • Update estimates in line with design changes or scope variations

About You
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry

  • Refurbishment experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

  • Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar

  • RICS, CIOB, or similar membership advantageous (not essential)
