Summary
Are you an experienced sonographer with strong clinical skills? Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care within Ultrasound Services?
Following successful acquisition of a community ultrasound service, we are seeking a full-time sonographer with experience across general medical, obstetrics and gynae or interventional US guided procedures to join our growing ultrasound team.
You will be required to work across our sites at St Albans City Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Watford General Hospital and Elstree Clinic.
Hours of service are from 8 am to 8.30 pm over 7 days. We are open to flexible working arrangements.

In this role, you will:
• Manage a complex clinical caseload with significant autonomy and decision-making responsibility.
• Promote and deliver high quality ultrasound training to students, sonographers, radiographers, midwives and registrars.
• Have responsibilities for governance, leadership, teaching and supervision, supported by the Lead Sonographers.
With a new hospital planned for Watford, work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital and plans for a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead, this is an exciting time to join us.

Complete a wide range of examinations independently, including more complex and acute cases from a broad range of referral sources.
Independently produce interpretative reports giving a differential diagnosis of complex findings. Guidance on future patient management may be offered within the report.
Provide second opinions to junior staff in their chosen subspecialty.
Actively participate in CPD including audit of self and peers; providing feedback and learning outcomes as appropriate.
Provide expertise, supervision, peer review and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
