Summary
Support Worker A Role with a Difference Manual Driving Licence Required
You must be legally authorised to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
Join our friendly, expanding support team in Kent, supporting autistic adults with their day-to-day needs and a wide range of activities including theme parks, swimming, walking and shopping.
You will ideally be a manual driver, confident driving mobility vehicles and people carriers for the individuals we support. Excellent specialist training provided. Immediate interviews available.
Shift Pattern You will work on a 3-week rolling rota, so you can plan your life around your shifts!
Early shifts: 7:00am 4:00pm
Late shifts: 4:00pm 10:00pm
Long days: One per week, 7:00am 10:00pm
On average our starting salary for a support worker is £25,812 per year (based on a 35-hour week and including one sleep in per week at £60 per night). Just working an additional 6 hours per week, i.e., 41 hours, will allow you to earn £29,844 per year

KEY REQUIREMENTS
o Manual UK driving licence essential confident driving mobility vehicles/people carriers
o Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
o Ability to confidently and consistently support individuals who may experience emotional distress, heightened anxiety, or difficulty regulating their behaviour
o Clear, calm, and adaptable communication style to meet the needs of individuals with complex communication profiles

Supporting over 80 people in Medway and across Kent, The Kent Autistic Trust provides a wide range of services designed to meet diverse needs of the people we support with autism, mental health issues, learning disabilities and related difficulties. We provide residential homes, supported living accommodation, day resource services, respite, and outreach services.
