Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our site team at Green Lane as Premises Officer. As Premises Officer, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning school environment. The Premises Officer will be responsible for the upkeep of the school building and grounds, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and managing essential servicing and repairs.
The school seeks to appoint a candidate who is dedicated, proactive, reliable and skilled, looking to make a meaningful impact in our school. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive team where your contributions directly enhance the daily experience of staff and children.
Candidates need to:
• Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils is maintained at all times
• Carry out minor repairs and general DIY maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently
• Manage and supervise the cleaning staff, including ordering and replenishing cleaning and hygiene materials
• Maintain the school building and grounds to a high standard
• Implement energy-saving measures to support the school’s sustainability goals
• Ensure regular servicing and safety checks of all equipment used by staff and students
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and compliance such as water hygiene and fire safety testing
• Be able to use Microsoft for record keeping and communication
This would be an ideal position for someone with previous experience in premises management or similar role, with a strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (including compliance). The successful candidate will have practical skills in carrying out repairs and general maintenance tasks and may have experience managing and motivating a small team. It is essential that the successful candidate is proactive and uses a solution-focused approach to problem solving, and has an enthusiasm for supporting the wellbeing and safety of children and staff.
