Summary

Learning Support Practitioner

We are looking to recruit at least two new members of staff to work 33weeks term time only for a maximum of 37hrs per week. We are happy to consider part-time hours if they fit with the business need.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is an opportunity to join a team of dedicated Learning Support Practitioners, who are committed to working inclusively in meeting the learners' needs, enabling them to work towards becoming confident and independent individuals.

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will be joining our dynamic team assisting in the care and educational support of learners with a range of difficulties and disabilities in varied subjects throughout the College.

Duties include providing in class support to learners by communicating with them on their level, breaking down tasks and explaining lesson content as needed. Note taking, reading and in some cases personal care of the learner may be required along with support for lunch, break and beginning and end of day. At times, you may have to travel and support off-site as well as in practical lessons such as animal care and carpentry.

GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths is essential for this post as is the ability to evidence proficiency in the use of ICT.
