Summary
We are looking for a number of people to work on our trains on the Welsh Highland Railway.
We can offer you:
• National Living / Minimum Wage for age
• Seasonal contract from Monday 23rd March 2026 to Saturday 31st October 2026, with the possibility of extension to the start of January 2027
• Flexible shifts to suit candidate: minimum 2 days per week, maximum 5 days per week, weekdays and weekends; or weekends and school holidays
• The pro rata equivalent of 28 days paid holiday, inclusive of all bank and public holidays

Key duties involve checking-in customers at Caernarfon station, greeting passengers on the train, providing information and telling factual stories about the railways, selling guidebooks, providing an at seat trolley refreshment service and assisting with the provision of our luxury service in Gold class.
These positions will be based at Dinas, near Caernarfon, however team members may be asked to work from Porthmadog or other starting points on either Welsh Highland Railway or Ffestiniog Railway services on occasion.
The successful candidates will have an enthusiasm for working in the hospitality, catering or tourism industries and a willingness to learn, develop and contribute to the team. Previous experience in a customer service role would be an advantage but full training will be provided.

• Must be numerate, literate and have basic computer skills
This is a predominantly Welsh speaking area and the Company operates a bilingual policy. The ability to converse in Welsh is therefore desirable for these posts. Knowledge of locations on the Railways and their use by visitors is required for this position, knowledge of Caernarfon and the surrounding area would be an advantage.
Candidates must be flexible and able to work weekdays and weekends. Hours of work will vary and hours may be available to suit candidate, with up to 40 hours per week available during the busy summer season.
