About the role

- Female Support Worker

- 30 Hours per week

- Bury St Edmunds, IP33

We are recruiting a female Support Worker to provide values-led, person-centred support across two supported living homes in Bury St Edmunds. This is a 30-hour, days-only position, with shifts including 8am-3pm, 3pm-10pm, and full long days, on a rolling two-week rota including alternate weekends.

You will be part of a wider team supporting 14 adults aged 30-60+ across the other flats within the locality. Support varies but may include community involvement, cooking, budgeting, maintaining routines, and occasionally supporting with mobility, prompting personal care, and monitoring wellbeing during day shifts.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide personalised 1:1 support, including occasional 2:1 when required.

- Follow positive behaviour support plans and proactive strategies.

- Support with personal care based on individual needs.

- Promote independence at home and in the community.

- Support safe travel and community access.

- Assist with cooking, meal preparation, and maintaining a healthy routine.

- Maintain clear and positive communication with families.

- Accurately record outcomes, safeguarding concerns, and daily notes in line with policy.

- Work confidently across multiple flats, all of which are 1:1 support with floating staff available.

There is free parking, and you may be required to drive the people we support vehicles (automatic and manual). A personal vehicle is beneficial but not essential.

About you

This role is ideal for someone who is:

- Compassionate, patient and values-driven.

- Confident supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and epilepsy.

- Comfortable providing personal care where required.

- Able to work flexibly across different flats and support environments.

- Comfortable driving (preferred, not essential) and able to drive people we support vehicles.

- Confident supporting swimming and community involvement.

- A strong communicator who promotes choice, dignity, and independence.
