Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team in Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire. This pivotal role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare and early education for children aged 0-5 years. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a skilled team to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment that promotes children’s development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities


Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and report to parents and management.
Provide a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment that encourages children’s independence and emotional security.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development through effective communication and consistent routines.
Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to continuous professional development.


Essential Qualifications and Experience


Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification.
Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery, pre-school, or similar early years setting.
Sound knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
Understanding of child development principles and safeguarding procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently with initiative.
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to undergo one.


Desirable Attributes


First aid qualification relevant to early years.
Experience in supporting children with additional needs.
Knowledge of current best practice and developments in early years education.
