Quantity Surveyor

£45,000 - £55,000 DOE

Lenham

We do what we say - That’s why we need people like you, to help us deliver on our promises. People who enjoy getting things done with a focus on cost controls and profitability.

We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our high-performing commercial team, supporting engineering works for our South East Water client.

This is a role where you’ll be right at the heart of delivery — working closely with operational and planning teams to make sure projects are commercially sound, well controlled and set up for success. As the utilities sector continues to evolve, this role offers the chance to contribute to smarter, more sustainable ways of delivering critical infrastructure.

Your work directly supports our ability to invest in innovation, greener working practices and long-term infrastructure that benefits communities now and in the future.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...

  • Producing weekly cost and revenue reports to track commercial performance
  • Controlling submissions of completed jobs and ensuring accurate capture of works delivered
  • Preparing and managing Schedule of Rates for high-volume engineering works
  • Reconciling subcontractor costs and producing payment certificates
  • Working closely with Operations and Planning to monitor progress, variations and scope changes
  • Reviewing schemes to ensure commercial targets and forecasts remain on track
  • Pricing completed works accurately and efficiently
  • Attending and contributing to client WIP (Work in Progress) meetings
  • Analysing weekly and monthly financial data to support informed decision-making

We’d love to hear from you if…

You’re an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in utilities or civil engineering and a strong understanding of NEC contracts. You’ll be proactive, commercially astute and comfortable working at pace, with the confidence to challenge, problem-solve and influence outcomes.

Strong Excel skills are essential — you’ll be confident using formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, with a clear focus on accuracy and data integrity. Experience managing subcontractors and supporting high-volume works is highly desirable, as is a willingness to support and develop junior team members.

You’ll be an effective communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and you’ll hold a full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel to site when required.

If you’re looking to join a team that’s helping shape the future of water infrastructure — and wants to make a real, positive impact — apply today.
