Summary


We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Sonographer to join our busy, dynamic, and friendly Ultrasound team.

You should be registered with the HCPC, NMC or RCT and hold a UK CASE Accredited Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound. NHS experience is beneficial.

The postholder will:

• work autonomously within agreed protocols to perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide independent diagnostic reports.

• provide training and education to all members of the team.

• Participate in any future 7-day service, working across all OUH sites as required.

• Undertake and report on a wide range of ultrasound examinations on a rotational basis, including:
• Gynaecology
• Abdominal
• “Lumps and bumps”
• Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) ultrasound
• Deliver a high-quality, efficient, and effective ultrasound service
• Work independently within your scope of practice, performing scans to a high diagnostic standard, prioritising workload, and producing comprehensive, accurate reports.
• Communicate results to clinicians and/or patients via agreed methods and be accountable for your professional actions.
• Support training and supervision of staff and students within the Ultrasound Unit, contributing to their development and learning.
