HolyGhost Christian Centre (HCC) is a multinational Pentecostal church based in Chalton, South East, London.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Singer/Worship Leader to join our growing team of singers and support in the vocal training and teaching of aspiring young singers within the church. This will be a full-time temporary job designed to train our young adults and motivate them to develop their vocal and singing skills.
Accountable to: The Music Director and Church Pastor
Duties primarily include
Mentor and disciple aspiring praise and worship singers in the choir, helping them to grow in their musical skills and spiritual maturity.
Provide guidance and feedback to help individual singers to reach their full potential.
Collaborate with instrumentalists on creative ideas for enhancing praise and worship experiences in the church.
Lead in congregational singing during weekly worship services, special events, and other gatherings.
Work with other musicians and vocalists during rehearsals to ensure a high standard of musical excellence.
Foster an atmosphere of worship that encourages authenticity, reverence, and connection with God.
Work closely with the pastoral team, worship team members, and other departmental/ministry leaders to coordinate worship elements for the overall flow of the service.
Continuously pursue personal and professional growth in worship leading, music theory, and spiritual formation. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in worship ministry.
Assist in administrative tasks related to worship ministry, including scheduling rehearsals, managing song databases, and coordinating equipment setup and maintenance.
Candidate Skills and Qualification requirements
The candidate must be a Christian with Pentecostal background.
Strong vocal abilities and experience in leading congregational singing is essential.
A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep understanding of worship as a spiritual discipline.
Ability to lead others into meaningful encounters with God through music.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of musicians and vocalists.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities.
Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to excellence in all aspects of ministry. Willingness to invest time and effort into rehearsals, planning sessions, and other responsibilities.
Innovative and creative approach to worship leading, with a willingness to explore new musical styles and expressions while honouring the traditions of the congregation.
A servant heart and a willingness to serve alongside other ministry leaders and volunteers for the greater good of the church.
Previous experience in worship ministry or a similar role is highly desirable.
A bachelor’s degree in music, theology, or a related field is desiracble but not required.
Ability to communicate in a Nigerian Language (Yoruba) is also desirable.
