Summary

Maintenance Person, Coppelia House - Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, to include bank holidays. £13.00 per hour.

Please note you must be a driver and have access to a car due to remote location.

Love fixing things? Enjoy being the person everyone relies on? Ever walked past a wonky shelf or flickering light and had to sort it out?

If you take pride in a job done properly, enjoy rolling up your sleeves, and like being the steady hand that keeps a home running smoothly, then Coppelia House wants you. This isn’t about big heroics - it’s about being the calm, capable presence that keeps our residents safe, comfortable, and surrounded by a home that feels looked after.

Because here, the little things matter: the tightened screw, the freshly painted wall, the garden bench that doesn’t wobble anymore. These are the things our residents notice. And that’s where you come in. You’ll be the behind‑the‑scenes star who makes sure everything works exactly as it should.

What you'll be doing:

Carrying out day‑to‑day repairs, basic plumbing fixes, and general decorating to keep the home looking its best.
Checking the building and grounds regularly, spotting issues early and coordinating with tradespeople when needed.
Keeping our fire safety equipment in top condition with routine checks of alarms, extinguishers, detectors and emergency lighting.
Completing routine Health & Safety tests and ensuring maintenance supplies are safely stored and risk assessed.
Looking after garden furniture and outdoor spaces, keeping patios, balconies and car parks clean and welcoming.
Helping move furniture and equipment, and occasionally doing shopping runs for the home, because we all pitch in when needed.
Being a friendly, positive presence in the home - someone who brings reliability, respect and a bit of laughter to the day.
Who you are:

Handy and confident with tools and small repairs.
Practical, proactive and proud of doing things properly.
Someone who enjoys variety - plumbing here, painting there, a quick safety check in between.
Calm, friendly and respectful when chatting with residents, families and colleagues.
Happy working independently but also a great team player.
Full of energy, resilience and the satisfaction of knowing your work truly makes a difference every day.
You will need to be reliable and flexible, hold a full UK driving licence, own transport and demonstrate good written/verbal communication skills.
What we offer:

A team that truly values what you do - even if they don’t always see you doing it.
Fully paid training and plenty of career progression opportunities.
Induction programme with a dedicated mentor to help you feel supported and comfortable in your new role.
Free DBS check and auto-enrolment pension.
The use of ‘Flex Earn’ enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time .
Blue Light Card eligibility – discounts on retail, eating out, and more!
Free meals provided when working long shifts.
Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home’s ‘Whycare?’ app and Refer a Friend scheme (earn money for bringing your friends on board!).
A purposeful, people-focused workplace where everyone plays their part.
If you like the idea of being the person who keeps everything running smoothly - the quiet hero of the home - we’d love to welcome you to the team at Coppelia House.
