Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for a Team Leader for our fantastic client located in the Kingswinford area.
Our client has a purpose built, clean factory with lots on ongoing investments going on!
This position will be a 12-week temporary to permanent role with a fantastic career growth.
Main Duties:
• Supervise and motivate mill operators, promoting teamwork and resolving issues
• Operate and troubleshoot sawmill equipment (band/table saws, routers, sanders, forklifts, CNC/automated systems)
• Enforced safety procedures, delivered training, ensured PPE use, and maintained compliance with health and machinery standards
• Inspected lumber quality (grade, size, defects) and corrected issues to reduce waste
• Set up machines, monitored production targets, managed workflow, and calculated material requirements to meet deadlines
• Planned/performed routine maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime
• Responded quickly to breakdowns, defects, shortages, and production bottlenecks under pressure
• Trained staff, communicated instructions, reported to management, coordinated with departments, and handled inventory/order paperwork
• Prioritised tasks, tracked production metrics, and maintained accurate records
• Worked effectively in demanding mill environments with strong hands-on mechanical ability
• Supported waste reduction, yield improvement, and sustainable practices
Hours of work:
• Friday 07:00am – 12:00am
