Summary
As a Water Technician you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water
treatments for our customers. This role ensure that water is safe and meets regulatory standards.
The position will support the key functions of the business by providing services as and when required.
Carry out tasks allocated to you in accordance with all method statements and the fundamental rules of
Marlowe Environmental Services.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities
• Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
• Must not exceed more than 2 audit failures per year.
Person Specification
• To ensure all work is completed in compliance with current legislation and documented at all times.
• Tasks to be carried out in accordance Marlowe Environmental Services procedures/method
statements.
• Maintain and promote Health and Safety standards within your team, to subcontractors, and to
clients to company standards and procedures.
• Ensure work as scheduled is completed on time, and to maximum efficiency.
• Liaise with client representatives as required.
• Report any pertinent issues to your field manager or client representative as appropriate.
• At all times adhere to the clients specific Health and Safety/Safe Working practices.
• Ensure all equipment used is safe and fit for purpose.
• To complete all tasks identified as the responsibility of the Service Technician (level 2) in
accordance with the method statements.
• This includes all tasks of a level 1 technician
o TMV valve servicing both failsafe and strip down
o Cleaning of the cooling towers & tanks (2nd man)
o Tank inspections
o Temperature monitoring and accurate recording of results
o Sampling of domestic systems and accurate submission to the laboratory
o Descaling and cleaning of showers & shower heads
o Flushing of little used outlets
As well as the above you are expected too autonomously complete:
• Cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of the cooling towers (replacement of packing, eliminators,
distribution troughs, spray nozzels etc…
• Taken and passed the HTM 04 safe water in healthcare premises course and carry out these tasks
competently
• Complete Tank inspections and record all findings accurately
• Clean and disinfection of tanks and services (both gravity fed and boosted supplies)
• Endoscopic inspection of calorifiers • Mains injection pipework chlorination works • Ensure all documentation is correctly completed on the tablet and electronic system • May at times be required to lead on a job with multiple technicians. Depending on the entity you work for you may also be required to do the following: • Secondary disinfection testing and basic plant inspections • Silver Copper analysis and service visit • Conduct BSRIA Chemistry and BSRIA Micro sampling • Closed system analysis, top ups and dosing via a dosing pot
