Summary
We are working with a reputable primary school located in Newport, Gwent, who is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-Time KS2 Teaching Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
As a Full-Time KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing valuable assistance to the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to pupils aged 7-11 years old. Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons, as well as offering one-on-one or small-group support to ensure that all students receive the attention and guidance they need to thrive.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the ability to tailor their approach to meet the diverse needs of the students. You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working effectively with children, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with both students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective one-on-one or small-group support to students, ensuring that they are able to access the curriculum and make progress in their learning
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, tailored to the needs of individual students
- Monitor and assess students' progress, and provide feedback to the class teacher to inform future planning and intervention strategies
- Contribute to the creation of a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support the class teacher in the preparation and organisation of resources and materials
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, in line with the school's policies and procedures
- Actively promote the school's values and ethos, and contribute to the wider life of the school community
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably within a Key Stage 2 setting
- A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the ability to support students' learning and development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
- A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being and academic success
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
Enhanced DBS and EWC registration is essential for this position.
